OpenClaw // Top 100

OpenClaw Top 100 Skills

The OpenClaw Top 100 page is a curated ranking designed to highlight high-utility and lower-risk skills for real-world adoption. Ranking is not a pure popularity contest. We combine community and reliability signals so operators can discover useful options without ignoring security posture. In practice, this helps teams move faster with fewer bad installs: high stars alone are not enough, and strict safety without usability is not enough either. Top 100 should be read as a shortlist for evaluation, not an auto-install list. Each candidate still needs fit checks against your task scope, environment, and permission policy. Use this page to identify strong starting points, then validate details in the full skills directory and source repositories.

Ranking Methodology

  • Start from seed shortlist in cleaned data (`in_top100_seed`).
  • Apply security-first weighting to avoid promoting high-risk outliers.
  • Blend community signals (stars/installs) with documentation and metadata quality.
  • Prefer entries with practical usability and lower permission exposure.
  • Re-evaluate continuously as the data pipeline updates.

Update Cadence

  • Weekly: data freshness checks for stars, installs, and ranking drift.
  • Monthly: curation review for weighting logic, removals, and promotions.

How to Use This Page

  1. Pick candidates by rank and category fit.
  2. Cross-check security grade and permission level.
  3. Open source links and verify repository quality.
  4. Pilot in sandbox before promoting to production workflows.

Rank #1

self-improvement

B

Captures learnings, errors, and corrections to enable continuous improvement. Use when: (1) A command or operation fails unexpectedly, (2) User corrects Claude ('No, that's wrong...', 'Actually...'), (3) User requests a capability that doesn't exist, (4) An external API or tool fails, (5) Claude realizes its knowledge is outdated or incorrect, (6) A better approach is discovered for a recurring task. Also review learnings before major tasks.

save-money

B

Auto-detect task complexity for Claude models (Haiku + Sonnet). Route simple tasks to Haiku, escalate complex ones to Sonnet. Save 50%+ on API costs. | 適用 Claude 模型(Haiku + Sonnet),自動偵測任務難度,簡單用 Haiku,複雜升級 Sonnet,輕鬆省下 50% 以上的費用。— RULES: Before responding, classify the task. If it matches an escalation trigger, call sessions_spawn with the full task and model anthropic/claude-sonnet-4-20250514 IMMEDIATELY. Do NOT answer complex tasks yourself. ESCALATE: analysis, comparisons, planning, strategy, code >10 lines, reports, proposals, multi-step reasoning, tables, outlines, charts, long writing >3 paragraphs, summarization, long translation. NEVER on Haiku: comparison tables, code >10 lines, multi-step analysis, reports, complex reasoning. STAY on Haiku: factual Q&A, definitions, greetings, reminders, short lookups, casual chat, 1-2 sentence tasks. When in doubt, escalate. Keep Haiku replies concise.

FAQ

What is the primary ranking basis for Top 100?

The list balances security quality, permission risk, community adoption, and metadata quality rather than relying on stars alone.

How often is this ranking refreshed?

The dataset is checked weekly for freshness signals, with a monthly curation pass for methodology and quality adjustments.

Should I install every skill in the Top 100?

No. Treat Top 100 as a shortlist, then run fit, security, and permission checks for your own environment.
